Linda M. Doddroe

KEWANEE - Linda M. Doddroe, 59, of Kewanee, died at 2:35 AM, Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 23 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Disabled American Veterans or to the Kewanee Chapter of DAR.

She was born October 15, 1953 in Kewanee, the daughter of Frank and Dica (Kissel) Entas. Survivors include her four sons, Patrick (Margie) Doddroe of Blue Grass, IA, Daniel (Jodie Robinson) Doddroe, Michael (Angie Sovey) Doddroe and Joseph (Samantha Haut) Doddroe, all of Kewanee, two grandchildren, Zachary and Gregory and one on the way, eight step-grandchildren, Felisha, Alexander, Branton, Gabi, Drake, Allie, Kannon and Jayce and a brother, Michael (Connie) Entas of Sheffield. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda had worked for the Kewanee School District, A&W, the Star Courier and for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2009 after 30 and a half years of service. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the former St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, where she had been a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of Union Veterans of Civil War, the Henry County Genealogical Society and had been Cubmaster of Pack195. Her hobbies included gardening, genealogy and spending time with her family. Her greatest blessings in life were her sons and grandchildren.
