KEWANEE - Harvey M. Slover, 86, of Kewanee, died at 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Toulon Health Care Center.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 18 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Paul Copeland will officiate. There will be no visitation. Military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Inurnment will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Kewanee VFW.
He was born January 20, 1927 in Kewanee, the son of Raymond and Flossie (Camry) Slover. He married Evelyn L. Miller on July 31, 1948 in Moline. She survives, as do his children, Connie (Daryl) Bollman of Kewanee, Stephen (Sandy) Slover of Neponset and Judy (Kenny) Ferris of Bradford, a brother, Kenny (Anna) Slover of Alamo, TX, seven grandchildren, Traci (Tony) Preus of Las Vegas, NV, Jamie Imler and Tommy Imler, both of Kewanee, Joey Slover of Galva, Chris (Anna) Slover of Kewanee, Amanda Slover of Neponset and Kenny Ferris of Bradford, ten great grandchildren, Brandon Fuentes of Las Vegas, NV, Dean, Frankie, Tatiana, Cara, Brandon and Michael Imler and Leeman Slover, all of Kewanee and Jason and Kayla Preus of Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lawrence.
Harvey served his country in the Army during WWII. He worked as a electrician at Kewanee Boiler for 43 years. He was of the Methodist faith and was a lifetime member of the Kewanee VFW. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing bingo and doing home repair and tinkering.
