U.S. Veteran TOULON - Rudy A. Krans, 63, of Toulon, died at 9:28 PM, Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center.

Private services will be held on Saturday, April 6 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers. Memorials may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.

He was born January 7, 1950 in Galesburg, the son of William H. and Martha J. (Sopher) Krans. He married Sheryle A. Shofner on June 15, 2006 in Toulon. She survives, as do a daughter, Amy Krans (and Scott) of Wyoming, two step-daughters, Sarah (Neil) Clearman and Amy (Reginald) Crosby, both of Alabama, two brothers, Dan (Dianne) Krans of Toulon and Randy (Karen) Krans of Wyoming, a sister, Dixie (Max) Ericson of Tony, WI, six grandchildren, Taylor, Emma and Bradley Clearman and Seth, Shania and Mya Crosby and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rudy graduated from Toulon High School in 1968. He served his country in the U.S. Army from August of 1969 to March of 1971 during the Vietnam War and had achieved the rank of SP4. He worked road maintenance for the Illinois Department of Transportation out of the Wyoming garage. He enjoyed motorcycles and old cars.
