Agnes H. Palmer

MOLINE - Agnes H. Palmer, 104, of Moline, formerly of Galva, died at 6:23 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 1 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Pastors Paul Lindblad and Scott Reece will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the MGT New Hope Church.

She was born August 17, 1912 on a farm near Cambridge, the daughter of Newell and Hildur (Johnson) Robertson. She married Leonard A. Palmer on February 22, 1933 in Rock Island and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1974. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Kelley of Moline and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Raymond, a daughter, Violet Caldwell and three brothers.

Agnes attended Cambridge schools and graduated from Victoria High School. She and her husband farmed in the Galva area until 1956 when they moved to Moline. She had worked in the kitchen at Lutheran Hospital and later for the City of Moline. She was a member of the Moline Gospel Temple and following retirement had volunteered at the church.
