Alice Marie Collinson

VICTORIA – Alice Marie Collinson, 84, of Victoria, died at 2:15 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 13 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Russ Theobald will officiate. Visitation will be held one prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Victoria Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to OSF Hospice.

She was born February 3, 1933 in Galesburg, the daughter of Clyde and Stella (Harding) VanWinkle. She married George Kirby Collinson on February 3, 1952 in Lawton, OK. He survives of Victoria, as do four children, Rosalie Paisley of Galesburg, Robert (Charlesa) Collinson of Sachse, TX and Cindy (Robert) Lance and Velma (Tim) Crowley, both of Victoria, a sister, Mary Mesecher of Galesburg and five grandchildren, Charles Paisley of Galesburg and Paul Crowley, Timmy Crowley, Jennifer Crowley and Jamie Crowley, all of Victoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.

Alice graduated from Galesburg High School in 1950. She worked as a security guard at Kress Corporation in Brimfield and had also worked at the Galva Foundry, Mecco Mine, Admirals and the Galesburg Research Center. She was a member of the Victoria Methodist Church and the Victoria American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts, attending flea markets and shopping. She also enjoyed summer travel to their cabin in Minnesota and winters in Donna, TX. Alice was a very dedicated mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
