Bonnie S. Peterson

KEWANEE – Bonnie S. Peterson, 57, of Kewanee, entered her eternal home on Thursday, June 29, 2017 after a long illness.

Cremation has been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, July 7 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Red Oak Cemetery in rural Cambridge. Memorials may be directed to the Bonnie Peterson Memorial Fund

She was born March 29, 1960 in Peoria, the daughter of Melvin and Lorraine (Anderson) Peterson. They preceded her in death, as do a sister, Connie, a brother, Rick, a niece, Ginger (Peterson) Schubach and nephews, Nathaniel and Jacob Peterson. Bonnie is survived by two brothers, Ron (June) Peterson of Wyoming, IL and Don (Brenda) Peterson of Princeville, IL, a niece, Rebecca (Bob) Heck and five nephews, Matt (Jen), Jeff, Ethan, Donnie and Cody Peterson.

Bonnie was a 1979 graduate of Kewanee High School. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of Kewanee Tops, Fairview Homes Community Outreach Program, Big Brother Big sisters and the Hog Days Festival Committee. She was known as the “treat lady” at Fairview Homes. Children loved to see Bonnie to get cookies or cupcakes. She put a smile on the children’s faces and loved to see the children at the Carnival. She also loved the excitement of the Hog Days Parade.

She lived life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by family and many friends.
