Carolyn Faye Lutes

KEWANEE – Carolyn Faye Lutes, 70, of Kewanee, died at 2:25 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Visitation for Carolyn will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 25 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

She was born September 25, 1947 in Huntsville AL, the daughter of Ernie Rutledge and Dorothy (Jackson) Gowen. She married Richard Lutes in 1968 in Chicago. Survivors include her husband of Kewanee, a daughter, Christina “Christie” Lutes of Kewanee, four sisters, Barbara Harrison and Julie Rivera, both of Glendale Heights, IL, Connie Gowen of  Downers Grove, IL and Laurie Boling of Tennessee and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Carolyn had worked as a beautician, at Jostens in Princeton and for the U.S. Postal Service. She loved to read especially on her Kindle.
