Connie L. Elgin

KEWANEE - Connie L. Elgin, 68, of Kewanee, died at 10:08 a.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Kewanee Care Home and is now with the love of her life and her mother.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 21 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, November 20 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society.

She was born February 16, 1947 in Kewanee, the daughter of Glenn and Darlene (Scott) Ouart. She married Kenneth M. “Kenny” Elgin on September 24, 1977 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on February 16, 2007. Survivors include her father, four children, Kevin (Lorie) Elgin, Brian (Lorie) Elgin and Cindy Paxton, all of Kewanee and Melanie (Don) Pritchett of Huntsville, AL, eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and six cousins. She was also preceded in death by her mother.

Connie attended Kewanee schools and graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1965 and then had attended Western Illinois University. She had worked at JCPenney’s and Peoples National Bank and had operated Porky’s Bar. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Kewanee. She was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed cooking, horse racing, staying in touch with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she especially enjoyed her girls, Winnie, Cassie, Chloe and Tasha.
