Delores Todorovich

BISHOP HILL- Delores A. Todorovich, 72, of Bishop Hill, died at 12:47 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 3 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Bishop Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Delores Todorovich Memorial Fund.  

She was born May 31, 1943 in Galva, the daughter of Harold and Bertha (Ericson) Anderson. She married Michael Todorovich on May 30, 1973 in Chicago and he preceded her in death on January 22, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents Harold and Bertha, brother-in-laws, Vladamir and Milcha Todorovich, and a sister-in law, Divna Todorovich. She is survived by her children, Jelena Todorovich (Salah Saghir) of Chicago, Jasa Todorovich (Ellen) of Bishop Hill,  a grandson, Sami Saghir, and one grandchild on the way. She also has two sisters, Marilyn (Wilbur) Nelson of Cambridge and Donna (Larry) Lindberg of Britton, SD, a brother, William Anderson of Galva, two sister in-laws, Ljubica Dobrilovic and Dushanka Todorovich and a brother-in-law, Nikola Jovic, numerous nieces and nephews and her “Puppy” Mishko.

Delores had attended schools in Bishop Hill and Galva and graduated in 1961. She had owned and operated Valkommen Inn in Bishop Hill. In earlier years, she had been a nanny, events planner, and a travel agent while living in the Chicago area. She attended the Bishop Hill Methodist Church and St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Chicago. She was also a member of the Bishop Hill Old Settlers Association, the Bishop Hill Arts Council and the Prairie Queen Quilt Club. She was an avid supporter of the Bishop Hill Community and a die-hard Cubs Fan. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and spending time with her family and loved being a grandma.
