Donald G. "Don" Ince Sr.

KEWANEE - Donald G. “Don” Ince Sr., 69, of Kewanee, died at 2:15 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Unity Point Health Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 20 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor John Alvarez will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or to the American Diabetes Association.

He was born July 13, 1947 in Kewanee, the son of James and Gertrude (Boswell) Ince. He married Chris Griffin on December 11, 1965 at the Assembly of God Church in Kewanee. She survives of Kewanee, as do six children, Bobbie Ince (Julie Held) of Kewanee, Donna (Jon) Alvarez of Wilton, IA, Don Ince Jr. of Sherrard, IL and Billie (Bob) Ingle, Dirk (Cherokee) Ince and C.J. Ince (Ashley Peach), all of Kewanee, brother, William “Bill” (Bonnie) Ince of Kewanee, sister, Connie (Kenny) Sellers, of Kewanee, a brother-in-law, Butch Petty, two sister-in-laws, Mary Ellen Ince and Cheryl Currier-Ince, thirty-five grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Keith, Phillip, Kenny and Bobby, a sister, Nancy Petty, a great-grandson, William and a brother in infancy.

Don had worked as an assembler for John Deere, retiring in 2005. He enjoyed country music, doing yard work and taking care of cars. He had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his family.
