GALVA – Donna K. Hulsey, 72, of Galva, died at 11:32 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

Cremation will be accorded and a celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 4 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Pastor Jim Shannon will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be in Floral Hill Cemetery in Neponset at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Crittenton Centers in Peoria or to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

She was born March 26, 1945 in Kewanee, the daughter of Charles and Delores (Shane) Donovan. She married T. Scott Hulsey on May 8, 1965 in Wyoming, IL and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2008. Survivors include her mother of Chillicothe, IL, her children, Dean Hulsey of Wyoming, IL, Denise Stinson (Andrew Rux) of West Bend, WI, Joe (Jill) Hulsey of Toulon and Julie (Matt) Lindbom of Woodhull, four brothers, Roger (Sandy) Donovan of New Mexico, Dennis (Kathy) Donovan of Pontiac, IL and Jeff (Linda) Donovan and Kevin (Crystal) Donovan, both of Wyoming, IL, a sister, Jeannie (Steve) Foffel of Toulon, nine grandchildren, Tara Waller, Tyler Hannam, Macy McManus, Mitchell Hulsey, Cole Lindbom, Devon Hulsey, Hannah Simpson, Cammille Gaspard and Tristean Hulsey and two great grandchildren, Teague and Lawson Waller. She was also preceded in death by her father and a brother, Danny.

Donna graduated from Wyoming High School in 1963 and attended Flamingo Beauty School in Peoria and graduated from Twinkle Beauty School in Kewanee in 1964. She had worked at Breese Industries in Wyoming and later in the accounting department there. She had worked as a hairdresser at Headware in Kewanee, at Betty Maher McGarvey Beauty Shop in Wyoming and also out of her home. Donna also worked at Twilligar’s Restaurant in Wyoming, did sewing for others out of her home, did babysitting and house cleaning and worked for the Toulon Grade School and High School lunch program. She was a dedicated caregiver who enjoyed music, reading, sewing, cooking and baking and especially enjoyed her family and friends.
