Dustin B. Orwig

TOULON - Dustin B. Orwig, 29, of Toulon, died at 3:54 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2016 in the emergency room at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Sidney Davis will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, April 1 at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service and private inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Stark County Mental Health Initiative.  

He was born January 11, 1987 in Galesburg, the son of Gerald “Joe” and Lisa (Howell) Orwig. Survivors include his father, Joe (Karin) Orwig of Toulon, his mother, Lisa Orwig of Davenport, IA, four brothers, Joshua Simpson of Seattle, WA and Brandon Simpson, Michael Schott and Nolan Orwig, all of Toulon, two sisters, Jessica Orwig of Las Vegas, NV and Olivia Orwig of Toulon, paternal grandmother, Bertha Orwig of Toulon, maternal grandparents, Jim (Connie) Howell of Toulon and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lester Orwig.

Dustin graduated from Stark County High School in 2005 and from Ashford College with a bachelors degree. He had worked in the soil lab at SGS in Toulon. He had a appreciation for music and enjoyed writing music and reading.
