WILLIAMSFIELD -  Elizabeth M. “Liz” Heffernan Blust, 87, of Williamsfield, died at 6:45 a.m., Friday March 17, 2017 at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 21 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church. Rev. Jennifer Seder will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Williamsfield United Methodist Church or the Williamsfield Library. Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield is in charge of arrangements.

She was born August 24, 1929 in Peoria County, the daughter of John and Susie Harriet (Lewis) Lindgren. She married Ivan C. Heffernan on June 20, 1946 and he preceded her in death in September of 1969. She later married Lloyd C. Blust on July 16, 1971 and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda. She is survived by two sons, Steven (Diane) Heffernan of Canton, IL, Kevin Heffernan of East Peoria, a daughter, Anna (Milo) Gibbs of Gilson, a step-son, Stephen (Debra) Blust of Normal, IL and two step-daughters, Donna (Don) Secrist of Pinckneyville, IL and Teresa (Pat) Burns of Galesburg, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister, Sarah Perryman of Williamsfield, a brother Willard “Butch” (Denise) Kimler of Williamsfield and several nieces and nephews.

Liz graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1946. She had worked for various local businesses, last working for Baird Insurance Agency for 27 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Williamsfield United Methodist Church and the Williamsfield American Legion Auxiliary #371 where she held various offices over the years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, reading, playing cards, watching TV and visiting with people. She was especially proud of her children and grandchildren.
