Gordon K. Wall

GALVA - Gordon K. Wall, of Galva, died at 9:05 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his home.

Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service with military rites will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 10 at Evergreen Memory Gardens in rural Kewanee with Pastor Don Reul officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on July 24, 1938 in Kewanee, the son of Curtis and Nina (Brown) Wall. He is survived by a brother, Jack Wall of Kewanee, a sister, Patricia Conner of Lakeland, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Erline Wall.

Gordon attended Kewanee schools. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1958. In his early years, he had worked on a farm and also worked at Kewanee Boiler for 33 years as a painter and laborer. He was a member of the Kewanee and Galva Pigeon Clubs. Over the years, he raced countless birds and had earned many awards for these races.
