James M. "Jim" Rasmussen

KEWANEE – James M. “Jim” Rasmussen, 78, of Kewanee, passed away at 10:24 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 14 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. The Very Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

He was born February 26, 1939 in Tampico, IL, the son of Leonard and Marvis (Taylor) Rasmussen. He married Rose A. Bein on December 18, 1970 in Kewanee. She survives of Kewanee, as do two sons, Jerry (Jodi) Rasmussen and Marvin Rasmussen, both of Kewanee, four daughters, Rita (Phil) Slusser of Kewanee, Kathy McNamee of Orion, Kelly Sargent of Kewanee and May Jo (Roger) Montgomery of Topeka, KS, his sister, Marilyn (Harley) Heaton of Kewanee, eleven grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Francis Rasmussen.

Jim worked for years at Pearson Brothers and retired from Great Dane where he was a welder for 19 years. He belonged to Hook and Bullet Conversation Club and enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on lawn mowers.
