Jean M. Nordeen

BISHOP HILL – Jean M. (Brown) Nordeen, 73, of Bishop Hill, passed away at 9:24 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018 at her home.

Cremation has been accorded and graveside memorial services and inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28 at Bishop Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.

She was born April 28, 1944 in Spring Valley, IL, the daughter of Herbert C. and Flora L. (Kuhl) Brown. She married Harvey Edwin Nordeen on September 8, 1990. Survivors include her husband, her sister, Judith Brown of Henry, IL, her niece, Lucille (Donald) Knuckey and their children, Elizabeth and Isabelle Knuckey, two step-sons, Dan (Tammy) Nordeen of Galva and Terry (Donna) Nordeen of Moline, half-brother, Lester Nordeen of Kewanee, step-grandchildren, Amanda, Misty and Zachary and step-great grandchildren, Ryanne, Reba and Liam. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She graduated from high school in Henry, IL. She had worked as a spot welder and had been a homemaker since 1990. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed crocheting baby blankets and Christmas ornaments. She especially enjoyed being with her family.
