Jody L. Chayer

KEWANEE - Jody L. Chayer, 54, of Kewanee, died at 3:21 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 5 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Dave Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4 at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the services and private inurnment will be held at a later date at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the  family.

He was born February 23, 1961 in Kewanee, the son of Wayne and Ada (Scott) Chayer. He married Kary F. Gustaitis on May 29, 1982 in Kewanee. She survives, as well as his mother, Ada (Warren) Creech of Kewanee, a son, Michael and a daughter Stephanie ( Jerry Fink), all of Kewanee, four grandchildren, Damon, Kassidy, Stacey and Anabelle, a sister, Connie (Hiram) Jenkins and five brothers, Martin, George, Jeff, John and Wayne (Nikki) Chayer, all of Kewanee and seven nieces and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant grandson, Kayden Fink.

Jody had attended Wethersfield Schools. He had worked at various places including Pines Trailer, Colors Unlimited and the Star Courier. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, pogo games and his family.
