KEWANEE – Karen Elizabeth Huff, 64, of rural Kewanee, died at 7:30 a.m., Monday, September 4, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 8 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 7 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Osceola Grove Cemetery in rural Bradford. Memorials may be directed to Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.)

She was born July 4, 1953 in Galesburg, the daughter of James and Helen (Mayfield) Mustain. She married Robert Taylor on September 11, 1971 and later married Terry Huff on June 10, 2014 in Cambridge. He survives of Kewanee, as do her mother of Galesburg, a son, John (Stephanie) Taylor of Cambridge, a daughter. Becky (Taylor) Dodd of Anaconda, MT, two brothers, Dave (Twila) Mustain and Gary Mustain, both of Galesburg, a sister, Mary Ann (Sherman) Wager of Ellisville, IL and four grandchildren, Ethan and Isaac Hernandez and Miles and Anderson Taylor and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her father and her daughter, Angie McNutt.

Karen graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1971. She worked for the Toulon Public Library for 5 years and had been employed by Kewanee Hospital for 10 years in housekeeping and the kitchen. She also worked for Freedom House and as a cook in the cafeteria for Cambridge High School until her retirement in 2015. She and her husband had owned and operated KT’s General Store in Kewanee. She was a member of the D.A.R. and her hobbies included collecting Barbie dolls, Civil War reenactment, genealogy and quilting.
