He survives, as does her mother of Kewanee, her grandmother, Ann Wright of New Windsor, five siblings, Kevin (Pam) Goreth of East Peoria, Kimberli (Craig) Lindstrom of Kewanee, Kelli (Sam) Mitchell of Advance, IN, Karri (Shane) Kazubowski of Kewanee and Kraig (Michelle) Goreth of Madison, MS, a sister-in-law, Ladosha (Dave) Bystry of Kewanee and fourteen nieces and nephews, Alexa, Ashlin and Clay Goreth, Mackenzie Kristine Lindstrom and Marlie Lindstrom, Kelsie and BayLee Mitchell, Ryan and Alison Kazubowski, Elizabeth, Roman and Roger Paul Goreth, Elizabeth Kegebein and David Paul Bystry. She was preceded in death by her father, paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather and her mother-in-law.

When she was eight Kris was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She battled this disease for 44 years. When her kidneys failed at the age of 32, her sister Kim gave her new life with her gift of a kidney. From then until the present, she was always mindful to protect this wonderful gift. Nurturing her five younger brothers and sisters, her giving nature and compassion led her to a nursing career where she truly cared for her patients. Having not had children of her own, she loved to spoil and dote over her nieces and nephews. All of them loved her very much. She was very proud to have been a Godmother to a niece and nephew and to have named her niece, Ashlin Nicole.

Kris graduated from Kewanee High School in 1983 and from Moline Public School of Nursing in 1986. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Dr. Kevin Jeffries at the Family Health Clinic in Galva and had also worked at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, FL and as an orthopedic nurse at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She attended Visitation Church, St. John Paul II Parish and in her early years was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She enjoyed cooking and baking and attending Peoria Rivermen hockey games. She especially enjoyed her dog, Max and attending the sporting events of her nieces and nephews.
