KEWANEE - Lucille E. Krause, 101, of Kewanee, died at 6:20 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Kewanee Care Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Bob Sherman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter’s Evangelical Church UCC or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
She was born July 6, 1915 in her parents home in rural Mineral, the daughter of William and Myrtle (Spears) Nash. She married James L. “Jim” Krause on November 25, 1936 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2006. Survivors include three daughters, Judith (Larry) Walwer of Canyon Country, CA, Phyllis VanDaele (Rex Rosenow) of Kewanee and Cindy Shields of Moline, a brother, Ray Nash of Kewanee, a sister, Doris (Dean) Moon of Florida, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and four step-great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Janice Ogorzalek, a sister, Arlene Kuster and three brothers, Lawrence, Glen and Marvin Nash.
Lucille attended country schools and Kewanee High School. She was a homemaker and a farm wife and a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Church UCC. She enjoyed flowers and cooking and was a wonderful baker, especially known for her pies and cookies. She loved her family, grandchildren and her special nieces and was loved by many people.
