Mary Ann Klavohn

KEWANEE - Mary Ann Klavohn, 88, of Kewanee, died at 4:10 PM, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 20 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Joe Schmidt will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 19 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church, Abilities Plus, March of Dimes, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

She was born January 19, 1927 in Kewanee, the daughter of Walter A. and Cora E. (Meloen) Henry. She married Earl C. Klavohn on February 2, 1947 at the First Christian Church in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on January 15, 2002. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Klavohn, niece, Annette (Richard) Kull, great nephews, Douglas and Andrew Kull, great-great nieces, Amelia and Lilly, niece-in-law, Pat Henry and several cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son in infancy, brothers, Evertt and Leo and a nephew, Gary Henry.

Mary Ann graduated from Kewanee High School in 1944. She had worked in the office at Prices Coal Yard, L.E. Boling Inc. and Martin Implement Co. She was a member of the First Christian Church and Burnes Social Circle and had volunteered at Abilities Plus Resale Shop and Meals-on-Wheels. She enjoyed cooking, time with her family and friends, playing cards, dancing and reading. She will always be remembered for her Santa Claus cookies at Christmas.
