Matthew Adam Gallagher

KEWANEE - Matthew Adam Gallagher, 42, of Kewanee, died at 12:44 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2015 in the emergency room at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 19 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Dr. William R. Toliver will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Toulon Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Matthew Gallagher Memorial Fund.

Matthew was born March 14, 1973 in Kewanee, the son of Michael E. Gallagher and Sue Huber. He had married Christine L. Washburn. Survivors include his mother of Kewanee, four daughters, Deidra Gallagher of Toulon, Danae and Justine Gallagher, both of Kewanee and Tabitha Speairs of Kentucky, his sister, Lesley Huber of Kewanee, a grandchild, Gavin and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, step-father, Gary Huber and a brother, Shawn.

He attended Kewanee schools. He worked as a roofline assembler for Great Dane Trailer. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed watching the television show, The Walking Dead. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping.

Matthew was a dedicated father who would go above and beyond for his girls. He was a very hardworking man and wonderful grandfather. Anyone that met Matt, loved him from the start. He was so funny, caring and giving. He will be missed very dearly by so many.
