Dear Family, just heard the news of Max's passing in the Lincoln University Restorer.
It has been many years since I last saw Max. He and I attended Central Christian Church in Beloit, WI, when his father and mother ministered there. It was a wonderful time of life. Max would always keep us laughing with his antics. Thank you, Max, and family for being a spark of hope in the lives of so many.

To The York Family:
It comes with deep sadness to hear of Max's passing. Our Mother Barb Muse is a member of the Orion Christian Church where Max did his service's from. My husband David and I would go with Mom on occasion and was always greeted with welcome arms. I have never met a better Man of The Lord. Max could weave a story and get God's word across to you. He was a giving man and made sure all of us got a little something from him for special days.
I was given a new wedding band and on a Sunday leaving I asked Max to bless it because I wanted a church blessing on this ring. So Big smile Well Sure, he held my hand, David's and Momma Muse's and blessed that ring and our marriage again. It still brings tears to my eyes.
Max sure picked the right job for his following , I'm sure God had a lot of say to that.
We truly send our prayers and sympathy to all of Max's family
and the Orion Church family.
Max will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
God Speed my friend

I will remember Max's jovial personality and solid Bible teachings. I will also remember Max and his singing of the song "The Old Rugged Cross", which he sang so often and beautifully. Max was a faithful servant of the Lord. He will be missed.

Having always thought of the York's as my second childhood family, the passing of Max (dad) is heartbreaking, but a time to rejoice knowing he is with his heavenly father. I spent much time with them at Downey First Christian Church, with Bronwen being not only my best friend, but my sister by choice. To say he encouraged me to follow Jesus and helped raise me up in the way a child should be, is a deep understatement and I so appreciate the time investment in my youth. Though it has been years since I have spoken to him, I am blessed to have known him and send my condolences to the family. RaChel, Bronwen, Justin and Brandon, along with your families, my love and prayers for peace and understanding during the firsts without your husband, father, grandfather and rock. Love Jenni

Dearest RaChel, Bronwen, Justin and BJ,
Our hearts became suddenly filled with sadness with the news of Max's passing. To watch your excitement on Facebook with the building of your cabin makes it all so much more unreal. Tears have been shed as Lee and I have raised you all up in prayer. We love you and our prayers continue as we imagine Christ cradling you in His arms during this most painful time.

We are so sad at the sudden death of Max. I grew up with RaChel and was in their wedding at Nevis. We have enjoyed connecting up with both of you at Pine Haven Christian Assembly and your cute cabin over the past years as well as at a Big 10 football game in Illinois. We are so grateful for the mercy of God in sending His Son to make a way for us to live forever. It is just so hard when some of us are called home to Him sooner than expected and others are left behind for a time here, especially for you, RaChel. We continue to pray for all of your family as you celebrate Max's life and miss him so very much.
