KEWANEE - Norma (Asbell) Wolfe  Nyman, 89, of Kewanee, passed into eternity at 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Geneseo.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28 at  Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Joe Schmidt will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church.

She was born May 10, 1927 in Kewanee, the daughter of Charles F. and Ruby (Comstock) Asbell. She was first married to William J. Wolfe II and he preceded her in death. She later married Harold L. Nyman in 1980 in Altona and he preceded her in death on February 19, 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Judith (John) Dolieslager of Kewanee and Christine Siegler of East Moline, IL, two sisters, Sarah (Maurice “Bubba”) Corwin of Venice, FL and Evelyn Larson of Sarasota, FL, a daughter-in-law, Terri Wolfe of Kewanee, a brother-in-law, Lloyd Dyer of Kewanee, a sister-in-law, Naomi Brignadello of Kewanee, seven grandchildren, Lance (Cherri)  Dolieslager  Erik (Jennefer) Dolieslager , Bryan J. “BJ” Stewart, Chae Otis, Katie Kirkendall, Chelsae Wolfe and Karlie (James) Robert and nine great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, William J. “Jimmy” Wolfe and  Edmond Wolfe, a granddaughter, Taylor Rose, four brothers, Harry, LeRoy and Paul Asbell and Harold Brignadello and six sisters, Irene Dyer, Julia Cone`, Marian Tracy, Thelma Asbell, Marjorie Morey and Marie Louise White.

Norma graduated from Kewanee High School in 1946. She had worked in the cafeteria at Kewanee High School, at Bondi’s Clothing Store and as a baker at Zarvell’s Bakery. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she had enjoyed Bible Study. She had volunteered at the Alcove at Kewanee Hospital for 10 years. She was also a former member of the Kewanee Hospital Auxiliary, having served on its Board and as Program and Membership Chairman.
