Raymond D. Bothwell

WILLIAMSFIELD - Raymond D. Bothwell, 65, of rural Williamsfield, died at 5:13 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31 at Victoria Cemetery. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Midwest Affiliate.

He was born March 25, 1952 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Wayne and Betty (Pierce) Bothwell. He married Judy A. Robinson on August 18, 1973 in Galva. She survives as does a daughter, Rachel Bothwell (Kendall Zimmerman) of Galesburg, two grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Zimmerman, a sister, Patricia JoAnn (Larry) Wilson of Victoria, a niece and a nephew and his retirement companion, his dog Max. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry and a son, Robin.

Ray had attended schools in ROVA.  In earlier years, he had worked at Admiral in Galesburg and then for his father from 1975 to 1999 at Bothwell Equipment and Fertilizer. From 1999 until he retired on March 31, 2016, he had worked as a mechanic for Plummer Trucking. He enjoyed starting each day with a cup of coffee and watching the Today Show. He also enjoyed watching The Voice and listening to country music.
