GALVA - Ruby M. Ringle, 96, of Galva and most recently Courtyard Estates, died at 1:05 a.m., Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 27 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Galva.
She was born December 3, 1919 in a farmhouse in Burns Twp., the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Sandberg) Ericson. She married Lowell “Hook” Ringle on December 26, 1941 in Elmwood, IL and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1973. Survivors include her son, Ken (Doni) Ringle of Walnut, her daughter, Becky (Bob) Gale of Galva, six grandchidren, Mike (Ellen) Ringle, Angie (Mike) Glassburn, Kelly (Bob) McDonnell, Kevin (Bryann) Gale, Kraig (Dawn) Gale and Kyle (Sheliah) Gale, eighteen great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
Ruby graduated from LaFayette High School. She had worked as a cup machine operator at Lily-Tulip in Galva. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Galva and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed seamstress work, canning fruits and vegetables, making wool braided rugs, baking and was especially known for her pie baking.
