Sue (Kubiak) Holtschult

KEWANEE - Sue (Kubiak) Holtschult, 61, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2017 surrounded by family and love.

Sue is survived by her mom, Mona Kubiak; sisters, Lynne (Bill Reed) DeBlieck and Teri (Joe) Warner; daughter, Brean (Jeremiah Bruegman) Holtschult; grandchildren, Coleman, Harper, and Collins; nephews and nieces, Mark (Tara) DeBlieck, Mallery, Jersi, Jerni, Kendyl, Jexsi, Kenzie, and Linkin. She is preceded in death by her dad, Walt.

Sue was born on August 16, 1955 in Kewanee. She graduated from Kewanee High School and Black Hawk College. Sue and her daughter moved to Texas in 1989 where she was a legal assistant at Baker Botts in downtown Dallas. They moved back to Kewanee in 1995. Sue loved spending time with family and friends, listening to music (especially the Beatles), gardening and nature, cooking, reading, and antiquing. She looked forward to having her granddaughters at her house every day after school.

Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday, March 23 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Funeral services will be officiated by The Very Reverend Jerry Rafalko on Friday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to the Boiler Room in Kewanee following funeral services. A memorial fund has been set-up for Sue’s grandchildren.
