BROOKSVILLE, FL - Thelma Regina Smith, 89, of Brooksville, FL, formerly of Kewanee and Galesburg, died at 11:53 a.m, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at HPH Hospice Care Center in Brooksville, FL

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Dr. William R. Toliver will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church in Kewanee.

She was born June 5, 1927 in Empire, OH, the daughter of Lloyd Truman and Anna Marie (Gerber) Warner. She married Lawrence E. “Larry” Smith on February 6, 1946 in Gainesville, FL and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2004. Survivors include two sons, James Lawrence Smith of Madison, WI and Ronald Lee (Karen) Smith of Spring Hill, FL, a sister, Joanne Haddock of Florida and four grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Linda Marie Smith Glidewell.

She graduated high school in Naples, FL. She worked as a leather cutter for Boss Manufacturing Company for 7 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kewanee and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed sewing.
