Wren R. Hampton III

KEWANEE - Wren R. Hampton III, 63, of Kewanee, died at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his home.

Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 23 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

He was born August 27, 1953 in Iowa, the son of Wren R. and Shirley M. (Lake) Hampton Jr. He married Rebecca G. Eklof on July 25, 1997 in Davenport, IA. She survives, as does his mother of Kewanee, three sons, Jeff (Lisa) Hampton of Galva, Kevin (Brandi) Hampton of Champaign, IL and Wren Hampton IV of Jacksonville, NC, five brothers, R.J. (Pam) Hampton of South Daytona, FL, Gary Hampton of Kewanee, Sam (Kay) Hampton of Moline, Nick Hampton of Kewanee and Doug (Jackie) Hampton of Wyoming, IL, three sisters, Berna (David) Gustaitis of St. Charles, MO, Zoe Estes of St. Louis, MO and Robin (Jay) Andrews of Kewanee and seven grandchildren, Maria, Paige, Kristopher, Morgan, Michael, Matthew and Judith. He was preceded in death by his father.

Wren graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1971. He served his country in the National Guard. He worked as an e-coat operator for John Deere for 35 years until his retirement. He enjoyed collecting knives.
