Cheryl Wyant Obituary

Cheryl Lynn Wyant was born on December 10, 1953 and passed peacefully on April 23, 2024.

Cheryl was artistically gifted, highly creative, energetic, and fun-loving. She enjoyed a good DIY project and ran circles around most people half her age. She saw the good in everyone and was always willing to help and serve others. She’d talk you through anything you needed to work through. Anytime… day or night. Although her life presented many unique challenges throughout, most would agree that she had a colorful and full life for most of her days.

Her husband Doug was an amazing life chapter for her. He was her rock. Full of adventure, laughter, and love; and her three children’s wonderful father. His untimely struggle with cancer and premature death left all who knew and loved him with a huge loss, and void. Life became difficult to navigate, however Cheryl always tried her best.

She loved God, the ocean, red roses, homemaking, fancy dinners, crab shacks with a waterfront view, singing in the church choir, dancing to just about any music, motorcycle rides, talking to and meeting many different kinds of people, traveling, being involved in her community, a good farm style breakfast with coffee (and about 4 spoonful’s of sugar), and time with friends & family. You’d find her barefoot most of the time, but she loved to dress up and accessorize.

Cheryl is survived by her three children; Rhonda Wittkorn, Dylan Wyant, and LoreLei Marcum; as well as two sons-in-law and her two beautiful granddaughters, Lily and Olive. She is also survived by many beloved family members and friends. Her niece, Mindy Klein, has been her primary caregiver in these final years of her life, of which we are all eternally grateful.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Friday May 3, 2024 from at Rux Funeral Home in Galva, IL. We humbly ask that any flowers sent be red roses. You’re also invited to wear red, which was Cheryl’s favorite color.
