DAHINDA – David M. Buck, 70, of Dahinda, died at 7:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2024 at his home.
He was born October 20, 1953 in Galesburg, the son of Earl and Mary Irene (Broadfield) Buck. Survivors include his brother, Eldon (Carolyn) Buck of Williamsfield, two nephews, Aaron Buck and Neil (Tina) Buck and two great nephews and a great niece, Connor, Noah and Emma. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two canine friends, Homer and Hannah.
David graduated from Princeville High School in 1971 and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1972-73 in the Armored Tank Division during the Vietnam Era. He worked at Caterpillar and had worked for the U.S. Government building a goldmine in Alaska. He also owned and operated Bucks Landscaping in Dahinda. He was a member of the Williamsfield American Legion and enjoyed operating heavy equipment, fishing and hunting.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 4 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church where military rites will be accorded by the Williamsfield American Legion. Pastor Zoira Marty will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m., until the time of the services at the church. Cremation will be accorded following the services and inurnment will be held at Williamsfield Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Williamsfield American Legion or to the American Cancer Society. Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield is in charge of arrangements.
