Alfraetta Ellen Brose

KEWANEE – Alfraetta Ellen Brose, 76, of Kewanee, died at 7:06 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Cremation will be accorded and memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Russell Collister will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

She was born September 16, 1943 in Moline, the daughter of Andrew and Emma Hansen. She married John Brose on February 14, 2008. Survivors include her husband of Kewanee, four children; Gregory Petty of Kewanee, Marty Petty of Ste. Genevieve, MO, Lisa of Kansas City and Lori of Ste. Genevieve, MO, step-children; Debra Fesler of Kewanee, Teri (Keith) Collister of Galva, Karen (Miles) Morey of Kewanee and John (Mike) Brose of Chicago, siblings; Virginia Lang of Kewanee, Geraldine “Jerri” Slaughter of Goodman, MO, Thomas Hansen of Princeton and Kay Walker of Kewanee, daughter-in-law, Martha Doennig of Kewanee, brother-in-law, Paul (Cecile) Trulson of Tennessee, sisters-in-law, Betty Packee of Kewanee and Dorothy Armstrong of Geneseo, nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Merlyn Petty, a sister, Dorothy Dickey, a brother, James Hansen and a step-son-in-law, Mike Fesler.

Alfraetta had worked at Excelled Sheepskin and Leather for 20 years and for the C.S. Dickinson Veterinarian Office. She enjoyed sewing, trips to Arizona and fishing in Wisconsin.
