KEWANEE – Ardeth “Ardy” E. Unterzuber, 88, of Kewanee, died at 10:56 a.m., Sunday, December 1, 2019 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. The Very Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, December 6 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society.
She was born November 3, 1931 in Kewanee, the daughter of Leland H. and Mildred L. (Gorey) Lewis. She married Ronald Buffett on October 7, 1950 in Dixon, IL. She would later marry Harry Unterzuber on May 25, 1985 in Sterling, IL and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2007. Survivors include her two daughters, Teresa “Terry” Klimkewicz (Jon Coulter) and Judy Kelly, both of Kewanee, two sisters, Loretta Landwehr of Mineral and Emilee Stephenson of Rochester, IL, five grandchildren; Alex Klimkewicz, Kaylee (Troy) Anderson, Angela (Casey) O’Connor, Brian (Kelly) Dexter and Ryne Kelly and four great grandchildren; Addison and Tessa Anderson and one on the way and Delaney and Kelsey O’Connor. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; William, Ronald and Gordon Lewis, her son, Gary Buffett and her daughter, Bonnie in infancy.
Ardeth graduated from Kewanee High School in 1949. She had worked as a cashier at Kroger’s and the A&P. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan who enjoyed going to the casino and especially enjoyed reading to her grandchildren.
