Bernice G. Cooper

KEWANEE- Bernice G. Cooper, 85, of Kewanee, died at 10:40 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Kewanee Care Home. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Carol Kersey will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hopeland Cemetery in rural Buda. Memorials may be directed to the Bernice Cooper Memorial Fund. 

She was born March 20, 1932 in Peru, IL, the daughter of Charles and Augusta March Jr. She married Homer Cooper and he preceded her in death in 1969. Survivors include her son, David D. Cooper (Karen Branom) of Neponset, her grandson, Ben Cooper (Patricia Giesenhagen) of Kewanee, two great grandchildren, Alivia and Zoey Cooper, three step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Patricia and three brothers.

Bernice had worked at the Mail-O-Graph in Kewanee until her retirement. She was of the Methodist faith and she enjoyed pets, especially her cat, Sparky, working outside in her garden, drawing and doodling and PIVA which is German for beer. She especially enjoyed her family and friends.
