KEWANEE - Bernita C. (Heinrich) Vancil, 89, passed to her eternal home on Monday, July 9, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday. July 11 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with visitation one hour prior to the services. Linnea Gustafson will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Bernita was born January 12, 1929 in Kewanee to parents, Daniel and Eloise (Heideman) Heinrich. She was a lifelong resident of Kewanee graduating from Kewanee High School in 1946. She was employed at the Boss Factory, St Francis Hospital, JCPenney, and lastly retiring from Kewanee Federal Savings and Loan in 1994.
She married T. Clifford Furnald on May 23, 1948 and they had three children. She married Kenneth Vancil on August 24, 1968 and he preceded her in death on June 26, 1988. Survivors include her children, Nancy (John M.) Kalvin of Urbana, IL and Mark (Teresa) Furnald of Punta Gorda, FL. Also surviving is a brother, Raymond (Sandy) Heinrich, and a sister-in-law, Jean Heinrich, all of Kewanee, grandchildren, Rebecca (Steve) Judge, John C. (Jolea) Kalvin, Daniel (Amanda) Gwinn, Alese (Nathan) Thompson and Eric Furnald, eight great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Laurie Gwinn, and brother, Frederick Heinrich.
Bernita enjoyed traveling, camping, crocheting, and dancing.
