KEWANEE – Bertrum A. Kopp, 92, of Kewanee, died at 4:25 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Joe Schmidt will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee where military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church in Kewanee.
He was born September 18, 1925 in Bradford, the son of William and Ruby (Loudenberg) Kopp. He married Drucilla Gambill in 1948. Survivors include his wife of Kewanee, a son, Brent (Rene) Kopp of Fort Meyers, FL, a daughter, Babette (Richard) Norbits of Lewisville, TX, four grandchildren; Brittany, Bryce, Toby and Kelly, one great grandchild and a brother, Francis Kopp of Buda. He was preceded by his parents and a sister, Alberta.
Bertrum graduated from Bradford High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He had worked as a machinery repairman for Kewanee Manufacturing and then for Caterpillar until his retirement. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
