Carmen Marie Murphy

KEWANEE - Carmen Marie Murphy, 75, of Kewanee, died at 12:35 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 in the emergency room at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 5 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Jeff Goard will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Carmen Murphy memorial fund.

She was born October 3, 1942 in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Irvin and Ruby Marcella (Garrison) Scovil. She married Robert Lee Murphy Sr. on June 19, 1960 in Cambridge and he preceded her in death on September 12, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, Robert (Beth) Murphy Jr. of East Moline, Scott (Peteann) Murphy, Penney Bengston, Susan Doye and Kevin Murphy, all of Kewanee, and Rick (Alicia) Murphy of Neponset, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, a brother, Dwayne "Skip" Scovil (Linda Harden) of Missouri, two sisters, Joanna (David) Wilson of Rock Island, IL and Marcia Jones of Topeka, KS, two half-sisters, Lori Scovil of Lexington, KY and Susan (Van) DeVilder of Kewanee and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carmen graduated from Cambridge High School and had worked at various fast food restaurants. She enjoyed cross stitching and being on the computer.
