Carolyn Ann Scott

NEPONSET- Carolyn Ann Scott, 101, a resident of the Hillcrest Home in rural Geneseo, formerly of Neponset, passed away at 12:52 p.m., Thursday, November 16, at the home. 

As per her wishes graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 20 at Floral Hill Cemetery in Neponset. Her grandson, Timothy Scott will officiate. Memorials may be directed to the Neponset Public Library or to the D.A.R. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 6, 1916 at her family home in Toulon, the daughter of Leslie and Cora Bell (Westerfield) Downend. She married Dean S. Scott on February 10, 1937 and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1979. Survivors include her son, Al (Debora) Scott of Neponset, grandson, Timothy (Abbey) Scott, four great grandchildren, Noah, Emma, Caleb and Jonah and a close niece, Barb Daum. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a grandmother whom raised her, sister, Janet Boldman, grandson, Matthew Scott and a son in infancy.

Carolyn graduated from Toulon High School in 1934. She was a homemaker, an avid gardener and a member of the D.A.R. She enjoyed knitting, needlework, quilting, cross stitching and braiding rugs.
