Charles "Chuck" Bess

DIXON – Charles “Chuck” Bess, 49, of Dixon, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in the emergency room at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial graveside service and inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 17 at Wethersfield Cemetery in Kewanee. Rev. Joe Schmidt will officiate. Memorials may be directed to Abilities Plus earmarked for the Special Olympics. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

He was born August 14, 1968 in Bloomington, IL, the son of Dale and Sharron (Swearingen) Bess. Survivors include his mother of Kewanee, his brother, James “Jim” Bess of Kewanee, grandfather, James Swearingen of Kewanee and two aunts, Connie (Charles) Johnston of Texas and Marjorie Yoder of Danvers, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandmother and paternal grandparents.

Chuck was a resident of the Jack Mabley Developmental Center and had worked at the recycling center there. He enjoyed riding his bike and especially spending time with his family.
