NEPONSET – David D. “Coop” Cooper, 62, of Neponset, died at 4:30 a.m., Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Carol Kersey will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. The family asks that you wear your David Cooper Benefit t-shirts to the services. Burial will be in Hopeland Cemetery in rural Buda where military rites will be conducted by the Neponset American Legion. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
He was born October 12, 1955 in Kewanee, the son of Homer and Bernice (March) Cooper. Survivors include his girlfriend, Karen Branom of Neponset, four children; Ben Cooper (Patricia Giesenhagen) of Kewanee, Heather Eaton (Jamie Tuthill) of Kewanee, Susan Hayes of Clarksville, TN and Edward Eaton of Ina, IL, twelve grandchildren; Alivia and Zoey Cooper, Kirstie (David) Frail, Tré Eaton (Lindsey Rule), Chypre Scruggs (Matt St. Clair), Erica (Andrew) Hansen, Andrea (Jason) Mapes, Breanna (Roger) Hytinen, Phillip Anderson, Trevor Barnes and Chance and Emily Eaton, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Cooper.
David graduated from Kewanee High School and attended Black Hawk East. He served his country in the Army National Guard. He had worked for Great Dane in Kewanee. David was a man who enjoyed saving a penny and reminiscing about the old times. He also enjoyed farming with the Miller family, gardening, attending yard sales and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
