Dennis E. Drawyer

KEWANEE – Dennis E. Drawyer, 83, of Kewanee, died at 12:31 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 at his home.

Cremation will be accorded and a visitation will be held from 9:00-9:45 a.m., Thursday, July 13 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Private inurnment will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

He was born October 20, 1933 in Kewanee, the son of Melvin D. and Irma M. (Hulbert) Drawyer. Survivors include his son, Dusty (Tracy) Drawyer of Kewanee, his granddaughter, Alexandria, two brothers, Nolan (Janice) Drawyer of Kewanee and Lonnie Drawyer of Princeville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Pamela Drawyer and three brothers, Rodney, Duane and Ronald.

Dennis had served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and had obtained the rank of Master Sargent. He had worked at Kewanee Boiler Mfg. He enjoyed listening to the radio, fishing and mowing grass. In his early years, he enjoyed watching baseball and football.
