LAFAYETTE – Eddie Wallace will be doing his combining in heaven this fall. He left us at 4:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at his home in rural LaFayette at the age of 90.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 9 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Joe Schmidt will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, September 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church in Kewanee or to Abilities Plus.

He was born July 13, 1927 in Arlington, IA, the son of Russell and Elizabeth (Walker) Wallace. He married Darlene Stewart on September 25, 1948 in Kewanee. She survives of rural LaFayette, as do two sons, Terry (Cynthia) Wallace of Cincinnati, OH and Rick (Carol) Wallace of Dexter, MI, two brothers, Mervin (Gwen) Wallace of Toulon and Eugene (Wanda) Wallace of Kewanee, three grandsons, Matt, Nicholas and Sean and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Eddie graduated from Victoria High School in 1945. He served his country in U.S. Army during WWII. He farmed in the Lafayette area for many years. He was a member of the First Christian Church where he was a Deacon and helped with the youth. He had also been a member of the school board at LaFayette High School, the Illinois Appaloosa Association (I.A.A.) and the Kewanee Krashers Model Airplane Club. He also helped start and worked with the Silver Spurs 4-H Club.
