Eileen Lucille (Binge) Stock

GALVA – Eileen Lucille Binge Stock, 98, of Galva, died at 2:45 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 30 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Trisha Chapman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00, Wednesday, March 29 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Galva or the Galva Arts Council.

She was born July 6, 1918 on a farm in Knox County, the only daughter of Howard and Ruth (Bolin) Binge. She married William Stock on March 4, 1951 in Galva at the First United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2000. Survivors include Jerry (Diane) Stock, Connie (Rick) Anderson and Bonnie Rogers, six grandchildren, Jeremy (Sally) Rogers, Chad (Leslie) Rogers, Nick Anderson, Emily (Joe) Richardson, Laura (Brett) Michna and Gina (Scott) Glasford and ten great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dwight a great granddaughter, Claire and her son-in-law, Jim Rogers.

Eileen was raised in Galva and had graduated from Galva High School in 1936 and then later from Brown’s Business College in Galesburg.  She had worked as a secretary for the Army Hospital in Galesburg, employed at Country Companies in Cambridge and at Case IH in Davenport, IA.  Later in life she worked and retired from Dr. E. M. Eckberg’s medical office in Galva.

She was a life time member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the UMW women’s club, a circle member and a long- time member and avid golfer at Lake Calhoun. She bowled at Eastgate Lanes, loved to play cards and participated in many card clubs. She and Bill loved to travel to Florida yearly to visit friends. They loved to dance and could be found every Saturday night dancing at Waunee Farm. She loved her family and spending time with them. She could often be seen taking walks even at the age of 90. She was a beautiful lady and will be deeply missed.
