Elsie E. Taylor

PEORIA- Elsie E. Taylor, 94, of Peoria, formerly of LaFayette, died at 12:31 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2018 at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 15 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Pastor Bob Curry will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

She was born February 4, 1923 in LaFayette, IL, the daughter of Harold and Elsie (Kennaugh) Kermode. She married James Taylor on March 7, 1942. Survivors include her husband of Peoria, a son, Ronald (Peggy) Taylor of East Peoria, a brother, Harold (Patricia) Kermode of Princeton, IN and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Roger and a sister, Audrey.

Elsie graduated from LaFayette High School. She had worked at JC Penney’s in Peoria until her retirement. She was of the Methodist faith and she enjoyed camping at Landuits Lake Resort in rural Hillsdale, IL and golfing at Hillcrest Golf Center in Washington, IL.
