Fern L. Stabler

NEPONSET – Fern L. Stabler, 92, a resident of the Kewanee Care Home, formerly of Neponset, died at 7:47 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 14 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Jordan Knight will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be held in West Neponset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Buda Rescue Squad.

She was born September 2, 1926 in Sheffield, the daughter of Frank D. and Louisa J. (Phillips) Hand. She married Charles W. Stabler on February 10, 1947 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2003. Survivors include her son, Jerry Stabler of Neponset, a daughter, Sherry (Roger) Cannon of Marango, IL, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sons, Gary and Jack.

Fern was a homemaker and a member of the Neponset United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and especially enjoyed being with her family.
