Freida Gower Obituary

COLONA – Freida M. Gower, 62, of Colona, formerly of Kewanee, died at 2:15 a.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity in Rock Island.

Cremation will be accorded and private inurnment will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born February 22, 1955 in Kewanee, the daughter of Fred and Virginia (Chesser) Ensley. Survivors include her son, Sean Michael Ensley, two sisters, Darlene (Frank) Rasmussen of Sheffield and Donna Cassidy of Colona and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Shirley Drawyer, brother, Fred Ensley and three brothers in infancy, Edward, Stanley and Richard.

Freida graduated from Kewanee High School and from Black Hawk East. She had worked as an LPN at various nursing homes with most recently being Forest Hill Health and Rehab in East Moline. She enjoyed her pet cats and goldfish.
