Gary D. Washburn

KEWANEE - Gary D. Washburn, 74, of Kewanee, died at 1:50 a.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 at his home.

His body will be donated to medical science for research and there will be no services. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

He was born December 8, 1943 in Kewanee, the son of Grover “Cody” and Frances (Grayson) Washburn. He married Margi Braggo on December 30, 1972 at the First United Methodist Church in Kewanee. She survives, as does his mother of Kewanee, two sons, Brock Washburn of Minneapolis, MN and Clint Washburn, two brothers, Mark (Lisa) Washburn and Larry Washburn, both of Kewanee and two grandchildren, Michael and Luke. He was preceded in death by his father, a son, Luke Anthony and a brother, Keith.

Gary graduated from Kewanee High School in 1962. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He had worked in research and development at VanPacker’s in Buda until his retirement.
