Harvey E. Nordeen

BISHOP HILL – Harvey E. Nordeen, 84, of Bishop Hill, died at 6:51 a.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Kewanee Care Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Trisha Chapman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, July 13 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bishop Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Bishop Hill Community United Methodist Church.

He was born January 31, 1934 in Bishop Hill, the son of Paul and Bessie (Vandike) Nordeen. He first married Wanda Wallace in 1962 and then later married Jean M. Brown on September 8, 1990 and she preceded him in death on January 4, 2018. Survivors include three sons, Dan (Tammy) Nordeen of Galva, Terry (Donna) Nordeen of Moline and Lester Nordeen of Kewanee, a daughter, Kim Nordeen of Bradford, two brothers, Harold Nordeen of Bishop Hill and Stewart (Kathy) Nordeen of Moline, two sisters, Donna (Louis) Larson of Galva and Barbara Gipson of Moline, eight grandchildren; Amanda, Misty, Zachary, Traci, Greg, Lacey, Patrick and Matthew and several great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Pauline Lee and two half-brothers, Bob and Clyde.

Harvey attended Bishop Hill schools. He was a self-employed painter.
