GALVA – Jeneiva “Jenny” M. Jennings, 91, of Galva, died at 6:50 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 10 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Pastor Don Reul will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Galva.
She was born August 28, 1927 in Rushville, IL, the daughter of James and Erma (Green) Roudebush. She married Galen E. “Gene” Jennings on June 9, 1946 in Rushville, IL and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2009. Survivors include her two daughters, Sharon (Frank) Bainbridge of Galva and Pam (Leonard) Nicolay of Kewanee, three grandchildren; Chris Bainbridge, Kelli (Scott) Kursock and Mindi Collins, eight great grandchildren; Jordan, Jessica, Jacey, Alex, Brayden, Hannah, Jacey and Harper, a great-great grandchild, Walker and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, seven brothers and a sister in infancy.
Jenny had worked at the Gamble Store and Ben Franklin in Galva and at the Colony Store in Bishop Hill until the age of 84. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galva where she was active in Sunday School. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and being around people.
