Joyce L. Horack

KEWANEE – Joyce L. Horack, 77, of Kewanee, died at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 3 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Pastor Stephen McGough will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, November 2 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to Encounter Church.

She was born January 28, 1941 in Kewanee, the daughter Fred and Berniece (Despain) Currier. She married Geoffrey K. Horack on October 20, 1963 in Kewanee. Survivors include her husband of Kewanee, son, Geoffrey D. (Jeanie) Horack of Bradford, two sisters, Shirley Zimmerman and Diane (John) Puskar, both of Kewanee, three grandchildren; Matthew K. Horack, Andrew D. Horack and Elizabeth R. Horack and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jeffrey Burdett Horack in infancy.

Joyce graduated from Kewanee High school in 1959. She did house cleaning and had worked as an inserter for the Star Courier. She was a member of Encounter Church. She enjoyed working, flower gardening, watching the birds and especially enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
